A-Designs R52 Dual Slot Rackmount Power Supply

After noticing that most lunchbox-style rackmount power supplies always seemed to have only two slots in use, A Designs Audio created the R52 power supply. Now, rather than spend big bucks on an API lunchbox, the R52 gives you an affordable way to bring the magic of A Designs into your studio. Plus, you can easily add more as your studio grows. You are able to use the R52 and A Designs module combinations in four basic ways:1. Loaded with two preamps it becomes a dual channel Mic Pre 2. Loaded with two EQ's it is a dual channel EQ 3. Loaded with one preamp and one EQ and LINK engaged, it is a complete pre/post EQ recording channel 4. Use one preamp and the EQ in the R52 and bypass your pre on your guitar/bass/keyboard amplifier and have a totally different amp for any live situation.The R52 works normally in dual mono, via an XLR in and out for each channel. This enables use as a conventional two channel system for 500 mic pres or EQs. A special feature on the R52 is the LINK switch, which sends the output of Channel 1 (slot 1) to the input of Channel 2 (slot 2). This enables a console-like configuration with an input preamp on channel 1 feeding an EQ on channel 2 to a single balanced XLR output; the channels cascade, channel 1 feeding channel 2 like a console strip. However, the XLR output on Channel 1 (slot 1) is not disconnected during LINK so in a preamp slot 1, EQ slot 2 configuration, you have in 1U a "dry" direct out, a pre-EQ balanced output, and a "wet" post EQ balanced output. This unique option makes it especially flexible to those who own two preamps and two EQs with one rack, so 3 different combinations of systems can be configured in the field by the user.

Access Virus TI Snow

The Access Virus TI Snow is probably the only virus you'd want near your computer. This tiny synth engine gives your DAW a powerful, portable sonic companion, able to access over a thousand sounds with a few button presses. The Virus TI Snow is 100% compatible with all the TI patches, and can play back a maximum of 50 voices.Oscillators The TI Snow has three main oscillators and one sub oscillator per voice. A main oscillator can comprise of various oscillator types including the classic virtual analog oscillators (saw, variable pulse, sine, triangle, 62 spectral waves with several FM modes) and hypersaw (a multi saw-tooth oscillator with up to 9 stacked oscillators, 9 sub oscillators, and sync oscillator at the same time). It has wavetable oscillators with 100 multi-index wavetables, which feature variable resolution and optional pulse-width modulation. The graintable oscillators apply granular synthesis techniques for independent control of pitch and formants to warp a waveform beyond recognition. The formant oscillators sound like running a signal through a massive, modulatable filterbank with hundreds of resonant bands being morphed by the wavetable index. Filters There are two fully independent filters (lowpass, highpass, bandpass, bandstop) with an optional saturation module located in between both filter blocks. The saturation module can add one of several distortions and lo-fi effects or an additional low/high-pass filter. You can get an optional self-resonating Moog cascade filter with circuit overloads simulation and 1-4 poles. Modulation The TI Snow has two-dimensional modulation matrix with six slots (1 source and 3 modulation targets each). Every feasible parameter can be modulated in real time. There are 3 LFOs with additional hardwired destinations along with one user-definable slot. Two lightning-fast, multi-stage envelopes (ADSTR) - LFOs can be used as ramp generators as well. Effects The FX section has independent delay and reverb per patch (even in multi mode), along with multiple distortion/lo-fi algorithms, phaser, chorus/flanger, analog boost, ring modulator, 3-band EQ, and a global vocoder. There is no difference between single and multi modes - patches sound exactly the same. Arpeggiator Each patch contains it's own arpeggiator pattern featuring 32 programmable steps (length and velocity can be adjusted per step), along with a global control for swing/shuffle timing, and one for note lengths. Pretty much every parameter, including the pattern itself, the amount of octaves, and many more, can be controlled using the modulation matrix.
